The third album from Elk Run & Riot.
By the time 2018 came around we were giging non-stop playing all over western Canada.
Looking to up our studio game we enlisted Steve Dierkens to record us. Steve used to work for Disney and is one of the best in the business. His one condition was that he use his studio drummer, Kent Macrae. We sent Kent and Steve the scratch tracks and after never even playing a note with Kent, we recorded the album 'live off the floor' in a day and a half! Kent is a Monster drummer and immediately made an impact on the songs of Animalia.
We had put a lot of hours into pre production and most of the songs had been road tested so by the time studio day came around we were like dogs in heat ready to get things done.
Steve was super chill and we immediately had the studio vibe going thanks to some beers and peanut M&M's.

We ended up doing our most ambitious tour for the album release and it was an eye opener to the perils of life on the road. But for all its challenges we wouldn't trade any of those hours in the dodge caravan for anything. Friendships were forged and bonds made stronger.
The following tour would be our 'Ski Towns and Beach Towns' world tour and would totally make up for the Animalia west coast whirlwind.
