Fresh off the heels of our 2018 Animalia Release tour we were approached by Canmore Cave Tours to be a part of their Christmas "Spirit of the Mountain" cave concert series. We had done the concert the year previous so we were prepared. We suggested to CCT to enlist the services of Justin Becker to record the shows.

Justin felt it necessary to bring the heaviest gear case he could find which made the 3km hike up the hill to the mouth of the cave interesting, let alone the 'Caving" portion of the adventure.

For those of you who have never been into the rats nest cave it is a full on endeavour. 3 kms to the mouth of the cave up the side of Grotto Mountain to the staging area. From there you gear up in jump suits, harnesses, helmets and headlamps and begin your two storey descent through the cave system. Although there are no 'squeezes' caving down to the grand hall there are plenty of twist and turns to make you feel like you're on the adventure of a lifetime.

This recording captures the insane reverb of the Grand Hall and provides you with a glimpse of a concert two stories underground in the belly of Mother Nature.
